First time post, baby
Hey kids. First time poster here. Just wanna say what's up to ALL the civ-daddies (and ladies), especially all my 4G Hatch Homies out there. Just thought I'd give a little background (not that anyone's gonna read it).
I'm 19 y/o and I eat, sleep, and breathe cars. My dad has owned his own car repair/tuning business for 30+ years, keepin' it small-time. I've been working on cars forever (I did my first rebuild at age 7 on a '72 Suburban Cheyenne Super), and I just signed on as co-owner of the business. We do everything (and I mean EVERYTHING): Domestics and imports, including euros (BMW, Merc-Benz, Lotus, Alfa, etc.). I'm prefer asian imports myself (I hate domestics, but I still fix 'em), and am the proud owner of both a '90 Civic hatch standard (not stock though [sm=smiley2.gif]) that I am currently putting work into, and a '95 S14 Silvia with an R33 RB26DETT swap, but that's not too important on this forum, eh?
Now, I'm guessing a lot of people on this forum will give me flack for not doing a B16A or B18C swap, but there's a good reason: I've already been there. Before buying this car (for $500), I had (and sold) a '91 Si with a B18C5 swap. It was fun, but this time around I'm going for something a little more natural, since the ZC is already such a solid platform and hardly adds any weight (though it lacks 75+ hp next to the 'C5). I also regularly do Honda/Acura, Nissan, Mitsu, and Toyota swaps (currently working on 1JZ into Corolla GTS). So please, don't judge my choice of powerplants, because chances are, if you can dream up the swap, I've already done it (can you say "F20C?" Or maybe you've heard of a RWD SR20 Civic?)
As my Hatch goes, the laundry list is quite short, but it's growing:
-'89 Blacktop ZC w/89 'teg ECU (chipped), rewired for MPFI (of course). I rebuilt the engine myself with Eagle rods, TODA valve springs, and Supertech valves, fully balanced and blueprinted. Redline has been raised from stock 7200 to 8500.
-Toyo Proxes 4's on 17" Tenzo AV7's
-Autometer 10k tach.
and that's about it
Well, that's me in a nutshell.
