Default Hey everyone, new member :D

Hey,
Im just a newb car person that decided to join this forum. Im 16 years old, and live in southern california. I get my car in februrary of next year. Its gonna be a dx civic hatchback '98. This car isn't currently mine, but when my birthday comes up, its going to be a birthday present from my uncle. He lets me practice driving about once a week cause its a stick. Just wondering, i've driven this car before, but Im not sure what type of motor is under the hood, and have no pictures either. He told me that the engine was swaped and also told me that it was "weak". Hope its not the stock motor. I remember a black valve cover with "Honda Motor Co." writen on the bottom of it, and the dipstick being directly in the middle. :X sorry its so vague guys .

Welcome to the forum!!! If the engine is "swapped" it is not the stock engine, what you can do is if you pop your hood and look down on the left side of the engine block (ie on the left topish of the engine facing the bumper) there should be a code, it'll be a letter followed by 2 numbers, then another letter and a number. If you can get us that there will be plenty of people who can give advice.

thanks everyone.. well i'm not sure i can get any other pictures, but I can post a picture of the outside, lol.. I dont like the rims though =__=, o well its not my car yet :X I'll get a picture of the motor if my uncle comes this week, if i dont, let me look if i can find a similar one.. i think this one looks acutually right, i remembered the dipstick being in the middle, honda motor co. on the bottom, and it didnt have anyother noticable tags.
