major problem
Hey guys ive got a 2002 honda civic coupe, 5spd with a 1.7 Liter VTEC and a pretty serious problem on my hands and i need some help. not too long ago i drilled a hole through my firewall to run some wires and i clipped my wiring harness..... yes i know very stupid, but i need to find somewhere other than a dealership to buy a wiring harness and a fuse box. the dealership quoted me $1,700.00 to replace the harness and the fusebox. now when i clipped the harness i lost my tail lights, parking lights, and my wipers, and i cant get my car inspected untill i fix this problem, so if anyone at all has any idea where i can buy these parts at plese help me out. Thanks

yeah i did splice all the wires back together but the dealership told me it needs to be replaced but i dont think it does so im thinking just a new fuse box might do the trick cuz the dealer just wants my money ya know

RE: major problem
damn son that was dumb. the fiewall has little holes in place that you can slip wires through it. you can go right beside your AC charg piping. you can even go for reall small wires you can go around the winshield glass to the doorway and behind the dash. i guess it doesn't help you not but for future notice and onyone else who want to drill throught the firwall. DONT!!

RE: major problem
i was running 4 gauge wire and there werent any other places you could fit that size wire through without drilling and running it any other way looks terrible, if you want it to look professional you drill a hole or find one

RE: major problem
I'm curious as to why you need to replace the fuse box, did it melt down or something? If it did, you'll also need to check the inegrity of the wiring from the blub back to where you damaged the wiring. I'm assuming your in the US so you'd be 12 volts here but you could run a jumper from the battery to each individual strand in the harness (provided they are just lights) and have a friend watch to see if the bulb comes on. If your unsure of the wire your testing you could just perform a simple continuity test to ensure the wire isn't shorted to any of the other wiring or the body.
