Modding an 03 SI hatch
I bought the car used and stock and have since than put on
A'pexi cat back exhaust
Injen short ram intake
tanabe strut tower bar
ingalls torque dampener
And I am in the middle of putting onmy megan racing 4 to 1 headers but man is the stock one a pain in the *** to get off. Tight spots and rusted solid bolts. Anybody have any tips, I have wd-40 sprayed on and let that sit overnight, I think ill have to use a torch to heat it up.
Also has anyone on hear installed a vcon vtec controller, that is the next project. It is just sitting in my room waiting for be installed.
*** Read the replys, I askedmore questions and also stated I got my headers on******

there is no need for a vtec controller. leave the vtec alone. it is set at the optimumrpm already.sell the controller and buy something else.

as far as the header, just be careful and keep spratying the WD40. Also, remember to tighten the bolts down to specs (to the block). Looks like you got a nice ride so far, posts pics

RE: Modding an 03 SI hatch
The vtec controller was only 45 dollars, and bringing the engagement of vtec from 5k rpm to 4k rpm will allow vtec to engage as soon as you shift will make the car alot more responsive. Now when I am racing 1st to second is ok but 2nd to 3rd, 4th to 5th there is a lag period before vtec. In my opinion the vtec controller (non digital) was money very well spent.
I got the header on, I used a torch to heat up the nuts/bolts and they came out with minimal effort. I am happy with the headers, I suggest megan racing for anyone looking for a fairly priced good product.
I have asked this before but now I have all the mods suggested to me.
What do you guys suggest I purchase to continue in increasing the performance of my car. (Speed mostly)

if you don't want forced induction or a swap there's not much left to do.
