Default New '04 Civic

I just recently acquired a 2004 Honda Civic EX Coupe, Automatic in awesome condition w/40K. Black w/the Alloys and spoiler. I don't honestly know much about Honda's except for their reliability, maintenace and gas mileage but I am interested in looking to upgrade my car, anything that improves performance but doesn't hurt gas mileage all that much and that's not $1,000. Just looking for an extra boost/ chip? /supercharge? that does not affect my warranty. Got a 7yr/100,000 on it and I don't want anything to have an effect on that. Does anyone reccommend anything that's not costly but good. Unfort not a manual, it's automatic.

Thanks, PEACE!

Well if you want something that will increase the performance but wont cost you an arm or leg like over 1000 bucks then i suggested these two things. Get a catback system which will get you more horsepower and wont decrease gas milage but will give you a lil added, and also get a cold air intake system which will give you more horsepower and will also give you better gas milage. If you don't want your car to sound like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbrDTuzuoj0 than don't get a catback system. But still go with the cold air intake system. Will do wonders for ya and not costly.

Just wondering but did you get a kit for you car, looks like some lower panel work, am I right? Might look into a kit. Will the extra horsepower with a catback cause me to lose my warranty? Or what exactly that one puts/adds to their car will affect teh warranty? Anything not Honda certified and installed by HONDA? If so that would suck.

yeah i got a 2inch drop and i don't think adding a certain catback system nor having parts installed on your car that isn't installed by honda voids your warranty. After all you could have installed the stuff yourself, they can't regulate you and say that each time u want parts you have to go thru honda to have them installed. And also its isn't a lower panel, its a whole lowered car, meaning i got different springs put on my car to lower the whole car itself. Also i'm not sure if there are any adds that will affect warranty and if there are i'm not sure what they are, but having a catback system should. And also don't forget to look in getting a Cold Air Intake system, will do your car much justice. Added horsepower and better gas milage.

your warranty will still be golden dude, it WONT be if the aftermarket part causes the problem (if they can prove that).

Thanks B!@ckBoYwiTaC!v!c. I'll keep that info in mind. Your dropping hte car looks awesome but I am feeling pretty low as it is compared to the infiniti that I had. I'll look into the catback sys eventhough I have no idea what that is. Also cold air intake. Any suggested brands?

My'04 - well, i'm honestly looking for something like air intake or a quiet performance exhaust sys since I think the catback will be too expensive right now. priority numero uno is credit card debts, so maybe 300 at first.

thanks for the replies-Matt, San Diego
