New to Civics....
Hi, just came home with my new (used) civic yesterday. I found a sweet deal on a 2004 LX for $13599 before taxes. It's a pretty nice car, very clean. Only thing I don't like about it is that it's an automatic, but I think that would be better in the long run. I look forward to having this car for a while.
Thats all for now,
Jeff
ps... is there any seriously known problems about these cars that I should watch out for?
thanks

RE: New to Civics....
The only common problem with these cars, is that once you do a few things to them, its REALLY HARD TO STOP MODDING!! But seriously congrats on the new ride, and remember you always have the option of upgrading from auto to manual if you get sick of the auto. Anywho, welcome aboard!!!

Thank you both....
So there really is a way to put in a manual tranny huh? How hard/expensive would it be? I'm sure my wife would kill me if I did that, but owell. I'm sure in a few years I might be able to get her to agree to it.

ps.
one question...is there a really good place to find all the technical specs for these cars? I've been trying to find something and I can't really find anything right off the bat. thanks

Autotrader maybe??
And yes, auto to manual is definitely possible, and not really THAT expensive. I dont know for sure about the 7th gens, but the job can be done on a 4th, 5th, or 6th gen for under a grand.

Welcome to HCF!! Post some pics when you can. One of the things I've notice about the automatic is that it doesn't always shift when you want it to. It's sometimes fustrating but I live in an area with lots of traffic lights and stop signs so it's cool.
