hey everyone, nick here...

Just picked up a 1995 civic dx sedan for the winter. 200k + miles. However, oil changed every 3000miles, single owner, doesnt leak a drop or burn any oil, so a perfect daily driver while the bmw gets a turbo this winter.

Pictures (large)....warning: this is AS BOUGHT, its been cleaned up considerably since

Had a few questions while I am introducing myself, hopefully someone can direct me to a page (not used to this forum or search function).

1- Speedometer is sometimes intermittent, and does not work, and when the speedo doesnt work, the odometer doesnt either. I assume this car uses an electronic sender, but am wondering if it could be the sender or the cluster causing this.

2- Why some manual cars never came with tach's i do not know.. I have heard that clusters from corresponding years of the EX swap in, be it auto or manual. Is this correct or what cluster should I look to swap in so I can have a tach.

Thanks in advance

I think I can answer your second question with YES it can be swapped with an EX... but I think it is illegal because the odometer information will be lost as well so you're pretty much giving up any chance for resale.

Your car looks really nice for its age. . . got pics of the bmw? Is it your car or family car?

bmw is my car, ill post up some pics in a bit

i was just wondering if it mattered if it was a auto or manual cluster to be swapped.
It is odometer exempt title wise, so im not worried about legalities

you can always go with an aftermarket tach. doesnt have to be a monster 5 inch tach but a conservative 2 inch tach mounted in front of the cluster. Or depending how well you drive 5 speed just listen the music of the motor. LMAO. seriously if that option doesnt work just get a small tach installed.

the ex and lx cluster i believe would be the same....they both had some of the same stuff cept motor sunroof and other knick knacks....im tellin you IMO it would be more cost effective to put in an afteremarket tach from autozone for like 35 bucks and they arent big or anything. i dunno goodluck.

i like the stock look, and if I sell the car after winter, stock sells alot better. Otherwise I would go with aftermarket small one.
