I disagree as well...unless i dont have a clue How can a car that comes stock with 127 hp only produce 135 with major cash dropped into it? Shouldn't i/h/e produce (not a lot more) but more than that?
the d17 comes stock with 127hp at the crank. we're talking about wheel horse power; how much power the motor is actually putting down at the wheels. a stock civic with an auto tranny usually dynos around 100whp, and a manual tranny usually dynos around 110whp. and in theory, yes. i/h/e should do a lot to help the performance of a motor. but that is not so with the d17, because it was not meant to make gobs of power. honda has almost maxed out the performance of the d17 naturally aspirated from the factory.
