the engine you'd want to swap in would be the k20a2 from an RSX type S. its not cheap or easy as there is a lot of extra stuff to buy and swap in as well. The full swap will probably cost around 7,000usd/10,000cad. Which is why I sold mine

Well I aint got 7000.00 thats for sure... So If Im limited to what I can do with this engine... What exactly can I do with it, modification wise that is...

I mean I'm stuck with it for at least 3 years... Don't get me wrong I love the body and the interior on the car... So I'm just wondering what kind of modifications I can do with the engine i currently have...

hahaha, i am John too and got an 03 LX, but mine is silver and has a wing Dont let the detur you too much more and more MFGs are makin **** for our cars, but if you are looking to hit over 200+ HP i would definately look into doin a swap. I found all the parts to do a K20A2 swap for just over 5k, pushs out 220 HP stock, and depending on who you know labor is FREE! I

BTW: You have a D17A1 motor in your car!

 

Wait, I need clarification. I understood that the k20a1 was the type S engine (200 hp)
The K20a2 was the type R engine (220 hp)
and the k20a3 was the base rsx engine (160 hp)

 

so if I were to find and Acura RSX that was totaled and the engine was still good, I could swap the engine with mine, right????

 

correct, but i think it may need to be an 01 or newer! the a1 is the base 160HP, a2 is the type R 220HP, and the a3 is 200HP type S

 

so i basically wanna find a type R or S if can... I mean I would love to fix up my car, and get it to car show quality, but im limited on funds

 

haha welcome to the civic world. i got a 01 LX. its a bitch to find engine parts but u can fix up the exterior like crazy. a k20a swap would be really good. once i get up enough money i plan on doin it to mine.. not even a VTEC.. cant keep that motor and expect to win some races .
