New here
Hey forum members, I just got a brand new '07 Honda Civic Si. I really prefer FR cars to FF, but I decided to give this a try. I was originally going to get a Evo 8, but 21k for a used car compared to 21k for a new one, easy decision. I am going to get an Evo in the future though . I used to have a ka-t 240sx but due to some trouble with a company selling me a blown motor, I don't have it anymore. Anyhow just to let everyone know incase you ask, I paid 20,000 for my Civic SI. This is not including tax, title, and license, so all in all, I paid 23,XXX for it. I have some questions too. I was curious if there are any problems that I should know about with my new Civic. For example, the Evo 8's have weak clutches so it'd be wise not to eff it up unless I wanted to pay an aftermarket one. Any help you can tell me about the Civic is appreciated. Thanks all

RE: New here
Over all we have no huge problems. there are a few things to keep an eye out for. Honda tended to over fill our clutch fluid. There has been alot of 8thgen owner complaining of second and third gear crunchyness. the fix is just to put some gm sycromesh in or some other good fluid, that fixes the problem and shifts are like butter now.
second is our rear subwoofer panel. After id say 5k or so you will develope a rattle in the panel. There is a tsb number, so when this happens just take it to the dealer an they put some felt **** in for free, to stop the rattle.
there is also a rev hang problem with the 06, you will need to get an updated reflash(free from honda). or if your going aftermarket, hondata has also fixed this problem in there reflash.
thats all i can think of for now. If you have any questions regarding aftermarket parts and what to avoid, send me a pm and id gladly help. 1 more 8th gen owner on the forum.
