New here, just got a 95 civic EX
New here, just bought myself a used 95 auto Civic EX with 133k miles. Seems to be running fine, but idles a little rough and gets about 300 miles to a tank. The tranny is overall smooth, but can get very clunky at times in traffic. I was told this is normal. Is this about right for this car? I used to have a 96 Civic DX way back but usually got about 400 to a tank. I been searching around on the forums, and looks like i'll have to use the seafoam and maybe the auto RX for the tranny. Also planning to do an oil change, plugs, tranny flush after the seafoam. Anything other preventative maintenance i should do? The timing belt and water pump already changed. Any help appreciated thanks.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride. You should be getting more to a tank than that. Your tuneup list sounds like a good start. After that, I would look at some new plug wires and distributor cap. Best of luck to ya.

Oh yea, I'll be lucky to get even 300 miles out of a tank, i have to push it all the way to hit 300. but usually i fill up when the meter is slightly above the red mark, i have 250 miles by then...are you guys getting better mileage than this? Im pretty much getting less than 20 mpg, about the same as my other cars....kind of use to it.

I have the same model u have and my mileage isn't as good as i'd like it to be either.
I do ALL city driving and I'm pretty good about filling up my tank before it gets to 1/4.
I usually get around 160-180. I dont think I've ever really hit 200.
But then again, I never let it get close to EMPTY.
