Hi all. I recently purchased a 98 DX Hatch as my daily driver. I know forums are a great resource if used well so here I am, to gather knowledge.

I think i might get the door handles, side trim and mirrors painted. I need to hit the salvage yards this weekend, I need stock speaker covers, the coin holder (i think that is was is missing) and the truck/hatch cover, its missing. The stock AM/FM deck is coming out too for a decent CD unit and some none blown out speakers. I have a CEL light (was told its a cat issue) on so that is top of the list but so is getting the 17s GONE, anyone got some HX wheels with decent tires for my 17s and a little $

Glad to see another Central Arkansas resident on the forum. Those 17s aren't so bad looking. I'll bet those low profile tires are AWFUL though on Arkansas roads. I'm waiting to get some tires for my Civic Si rims, that'll help me.

I've noticed that the salvage yards around here are pretty awful as far as 6th gen Civics go, but if you find some with decent parts let me know. I'll do the same.

I highly recommend painting the trim to match. I just finished painting mine yesterday, actually.

Thanks for the welcome so far.

As for the 17s, they look decent but not fond of the 40 series tires, loud and the ride is a bit harsh for my liking, 10 years ago maybe, now, nope. I will be hitting the salvage yards some this weekend looking for stock alloys or my favs, HX wheels.

The trim paint might get done, black or body color, still drives the same to me, tires and the CEL are my main focus right now.

Got 31mpg for the second fillup in a row so I know something is wrong, should be getting 35ish? And my 400 mile drive last weekend should have been upper 30's, but again 31.

Having a check engine light on will decrease your gas mileage. I bet when you fix that you'll be getting 35, maybe a little more. But welcome to the site, and nice hatch! It'll definitely look better without those wheels; I think some 99-00 Si wheels, some Honda Fit's, or some HX wheels would look really nice.

Well the 17s are off and sold to the kid at the tire shop. the same shop that took off the "tuner" lugs after the special socket went south for me.

Rolling on some stockers. Prob gonna put some silver wheel paint on them, might look decent.

Picked up these from CL for. Got them home and found out they are too tall for my ride 205/50/16. Oh well I am sure I can unload them for a few bucks.
