Wow, my first impulse was to also say fuel filter. but Im just not sure. Id first do an all around tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, check all vacuum lines and then go from there. maybe the fuel pump?

Oh, snap. Civtegra lives in Baltimore.

Go here: Swap guide It's all about the motors you might want to "swap" into your car. The B series is the 1.6L DOHC and a sweet upgrade, but it can get a little pricey depending on your budget. Think of it as a 350. The D16Z6 is the 1.6L V-Tec "sporty" motor that came in the 5th generation Civics (92-95). Think of it as the 302, the "GT" of the 5th gen Civic.

The water pump, to be sure, is a pain in the ***, but not overly expensive if you do it yourself. I could swear there was a timing belt DIY on here but I guess not (hint, hint, Sac). I have only ever seen write ups on water pump replacement in conjunction with timing belt replacement.

I was gonna say fuel pump too because I have heard of them shutting down at high temps, but that wouldn't explain the cooling problems.
