My name is SHopkins...and I am a "Newbie"! My baby is a 1988 Civic DX 5spd hatchback. Paid apprx. $8000 brand new and still drive it today. Got 198,000 miles out of the original clutch. Then I had to change it and the shocks. I just had the top half of the motor rebuilt due to burnt valves ($2000) and that is all the trouble I have had out of it. It has 209,000 miles on it now and I figure when I get 1 million out of it I will right Honda a letter and tell them good job. Until then...I will keep driving it.

welcome!...thats very very impressive, makes me proud i own a honda, considering alot of new cars now days (not by any spacific company) once the warrinty is finished stuff starts going wrong with it

 

Welcome! Sounds like my dad's car. He drives an 89 accord...it's got 320,000 miles on it and he still has the original clutch and everything else. My mom keeps trying to get him to buy something new but he wants to keep driving it until the day it dies.
