Ok, I'm here and we can start the party NOW!
Hello everyone!
Just a few things about me to tie up a little of your bandwidth this evening. I am a 35 (yeah, that old) y.o. male that loves to play with my toys. Presently, I am in posession of 4 running automobiles and 1 non-running.
Running list:
1988 Honda Civic - Bought it from a friend for $500 (see attached pic) - 5 spd (1.6l I think)
1993 Toyota Pickup - 4x4 for when I need to get dirty - 5 spd 22RE
1996 Honda Civic - it's my wife's commuter...an automatic, so you will not catch me in there often
2004 Honda Element - It's my toy-box :-)
Non-running:
1985 FORD Bronco II - I am planning a full-width conversion on this little future off-roader.
The 1988 Civic is the 5th Civic I have owned....and I love these things......I had a 1985 (bought for $50 with a busted radiator hose) and a 1991 3-door that tried to whip a Caddilac, the Caddy won! and a 2000 LX that I put 100k on (she had 19 miles when I got her) but I traded her for the Element
I am interested in playing with this little 88 since it is an older ride and if I "f" something up I am not out too much but I am presently running it as my daily commuter to save mileage (and fuel) on the Element.
Well, here are some pictures......let me know what you think.

Nice. Welcome, Tricky. I see those Civics around and I always think how cool it would be to turn one into a sleeper or an autocross car. What are you thinking about doing to it?

RE: Ok, I'm here and we can start the party NOW!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
As for the Hondas.....I have always said I would buy a Honda Truck when they make one, so I bought a 2004 Element.
As for what to do with this little jewel......the first thing I am working on is making it commuter ready (replaced the starter, CVs, and timing belt soon). After I get that together, I want to make it breathe (it already needs exhaust)........then I need to do somthing with the suspension (warn shocks and springs and.....)
Basically, I see all of the cheap stuff on E-BAY and I wonder if I should go that route or spend more money on this little $500 car.......I read the "you get what you pay for" thread and, typically, I agree with that....but it will be hard for me to spend $1000 on this thing knowing I could be sinking that money in my Element.....I would love to have a CAI and cat-back for it too!
I welcome any thoughts and opinions...and maybe some helpful suggestions.....I do pretty much all of my work myself; I am an Engineer and I sit behind a desk all day. I need to get my fingernails dirty sometimes....and I have a thing for tools....I love tools :-)
