Default quicker civic

I own a 2003 Civic Ex and I would like to make it alot faster. I dont really want to get into racing. However I constantly get propositioned from "tough guys". You know guys who think they are fast but are'nt. But still have bigger engines than me. ie. Grand Am, Mustang V6 or V8's, even other Hondas or imports. My Honda is pretty fast already. But the accelleration is abit slow. So I'm looking to resolve this problem. I already have a good exhaust system. But I'm thinking of adding headers, cold air intake and i've been told to try a throttle body. So any suggestions would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, by the way my name is Tony. I'm pretty new to import performance so I know nothing!

See the problem is is that your trying to make a race car out of an economy car. the 7th gen civics are designed for economy not racing. Now you could blow thousands and thousands of dollars on all new internals blah blah blah but to this day I have never seen any real good data that suggests this is a good idea. IE Dyno Numbers!!!!!!!!. If you want to hang with those guys your talking about, your going to need a nitrous kit at the very least. That will give you the low end torque you so desperatley seek. Then maybe a custom Turbo setup, but be warned you will need to modify your fuel system. The turbo kit could run you upwards of 3000 dollars WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE!

i would have to agree with D17SOHC if you are gunna turbo it, you might as well just do an engine swap and just about double your HP. the k20 puts out right around 220hp!

Hi im new to the forum but i know a guy with a crx with a b18 and stripped a integra and put it all into a crx and he can beat 5.0 litre mustangs eaily and he can beat grand ams. In fact its actually hard to belive but he beat an 89 5.0 litre mustang with about $5000 under the hood and he has about $500. all i have is a 93 civic hatchback cold air intake 1.6. I find it pretty quick.

a good buddy of mine put about 1500 dollars into his 92 hatch and ran 11.90s . Spraying a b18c1. He actually just cracked a sleeve and scapped the bottom end and just bought a k24 long block to drop into it. It is going to be crazy.
