Default Recently Rebuilt D16Y8, looking for opinions

I have recently finished a high compression rebuild (10.5:1) on my D16Y8 engine that threw out a rod bearing back in November of 2014 and would like some opinions on what else I should to do it to make it run better. Some things were done to the engine prior to the motor blowing, such as a header, AEM short ram air intake, Accel ignition coil and wires, and Accel spark plugs. While rebuilding the engine I encountered a few problems via ordering the wrong part(ill-informed about the part). I ordered a few parts in which I did not use for the actual build, but as a test to make sure everything fit together correctly(stock main and rod bearings, stock head gasket).

Here is a list of tools, prices, part numbers, part names, and the site where I bought the part:

All that money for a D series...

Regardless, welcome to the forum.

I was going to look into sending my ECU to jet performance after purchasing a new camshaft and getting an ECU upgrade. From what I understand on their website is that I fill out all the information on a form about what all has been done to the engine (headers, exhaust, intake manifold, compression ratio, etc.), including the new intake and exhaust valve lift and duration, and they will custom tune my ECU for $379.00. Would this be worth it?

Buy a Hondata S300 and a P28 ECU. It will cost more now, but you can do so much more with it. Getting a used one will set you back around $500.

I was looking into those also and that's what I was originally going to go with. I also looked at the AEM FI/C, and then saw the JET upgrade. Will the engine run with the stock ECU until I am able to get one? I was just going to use the adjustable fuel pressure regulator to adjust the air fuel ratios and monitor them with the air/fuel ratio gauge until I am able to get the camshaft and whichever ECU option I go with.
