RE: SUPER NEWBIE HI!
actually, at 16 your brain isnt developed enough to make a logical decision when it comes to making risks. so technically, you are not physically ready to have a fast car

Yeam he meant mental... driving is like acting, you just 'have' the skills when your good. I am a really good driver (not bragging at all BTW) . Im the one all my drunk buddies get to drive because somehow I can drive better that a normal driver when... you know. Sober people who ride with me sit there amazed... its actually really funny to watch them go "omg! you cant be drunk! wtf?"

RE: SUPER NEWBIE HI!
hehe, auto-x is short for autocross. its a competition that is usually set up in a big parking lot with orange traffic cones. then you just go around it as fast as you can. you learn a lot about what your car does at high speeds. thats where i first learned how to get my car to go into off-throttle oversteer, now i can get my car sideways around a corner without the e-brake. go to scca.com and find the nearest event to you. its not too expensive either, when you compare it to time at a full-on track. a lot of times, you can even get good advice from the veterans there, or even go for a ride with one of them.

No, it's not a driving course, it is a type of racing. Basically, you get a bunch of people in one big parking lot, and make huge course using cones. Then, you see who can drive thru it the quickest, with the best time. Hit cones are penalties, so you're driving has to be very precise. That's pretty much autox in a nutshell. Oh, and it's autocross, but we abbreviate it with autox.
