Before you take it anywhere to have it checked unplug the battery-the o2 sensor probably malfunctioned for a second just try to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery, if it still doesnt work then have it checked. Did you add an intake kit?

I drive a 1999 Civic EX and my engine light is on also, but that is because I cleaned my Catalytic Converter (which I regret doing now). I unhooked the battery cables and let the computer reset, the light went off and a while later it came back on, I know that when I cleaned the converter it probably made my back up oxygen sensor do bad in the catalyti converter. All I am saying is that Honda's have 2 O2 sensors so if one goes bad you have a back up sensor. If that is the problem then don't worry tooo soon because still have a back up sensor to keep you going. I had a nissa 200 sx and the o2 sensor went bad and my car started off real sluggish, that is another way you can tell both of them are bad. Where are you from Civic girl?
