b16a2 is good because there are a lot of aftermarket parts that will fit it

thanks guys now what can a chip exactly do for me and my engine?? good news while i was in school my car got egged and a tire got popped and my rearview mirror got busted off the window some how. im really debating if i should keep this civic and fix it up or if i should just get an ex 2nd gen. give me a lil more goodies inside and do the same to that. thanks again for the welcoming.

B16......not a bad idea. A chip is a terrible idea. Your car is different from every other civic with a B16 swap.........no 2 run alike. Get the swap and run the B16 ECU (computer). After youve done some mods to the engine you can get it tuned. This means a professional will FINE tune the Air/Fuel ratio according to your engines modifications........resulting in max hp. Most "chips" are gimmics..........its a 10cent resistor that tricks the ECU into thinking the intake air is colder than it is.......dont buy those chips.......get a real tune, after youve purchased some real mods. You need to decide if you wanna go Naturally Aspired or Forced induction. If i had a B16 and didnt want to turbo, Id get a full exhaust..... (Header, Hi flow cat.....and a cat back exhaust), A cold air intake, Cams, bigger, higher flowing intake manifold, bigger throttle body, and hondata S200. Get that tuned and ull be happy.

or throw on a turbo kit, run 6psi on a good "neptune" or "hondata s200 with boost option" and ull have more power then you know what to do with.

thanks pete that helps. i was looking at a web site that sold jdm motors and it looks pretty ok. it is osakajdmmotors.com and i can get all i need for a swap for 1750 but i want lsd and maybe new axles so im looking at about 2500 for it all after shipping and stuff but would u know how much it would cost to have a pro drop it in at a shop? i have thought about fine tuning it after some minor mods. until i get enuf money i will run f/i but for now i will keep it n/a. i know that i want more powerful fuel pump, larger fuel rail with a pressure regulator, a higher flowing intake and a bigger t.b., also high performance cams, lightweight valves with dual springs and titanium retainers, and maybe some cam gears. question, wut exactly is a port and polish?
