Not what I'm saying at all. OK, here's a simple example for you.

D16Y8
B18B1

Both shooting for ~200 whp

The parts needed to get those numbers will cost you less for the B than for the D.
How about this for an exercise? I want to 200whp for both civics.

Both of you build me a 200whp civic, one using D16Y8 and the other B18B1.

List the parts you need to get to 200whp and the price. I already have the engine so only additional parts are required.

This is cool 'cause now I get a little knowledge myself.
Well this will be hard and i don't think i can do it N/A with a z6 but il put the closest i can think of to it...this is off the top of my head so forgive me if i forget something....this probably wont be too cheap either because i'm not really trying to stay under any budget..

skunk 2 IM/Edelbrock IM - 330
injen cai - 150
RsR Exmag Exhaust - 480
Skunk2 front and rear lower tie bars - 150
skunk2 front and rear strut bars - 150
arp headstuds - 100
dc ceramic 421's - 250
exedy stage 1 clutch - not sure
fidanza/act 9lb clutch - not sure
Rage imports d16 cam gear - not sure
skunk2 stage 1 cams - not sure
chipped p28 - not sure
maybe new injectors - 200
aem pullys - 180

...that's all for now im bored and i gotta go to hockey practice

it's kind of pointless then...that's almost the whole big deal with b vs d...the price of the engine...but i guess you could want to build both....

I'm building my D17 and at first I was gonna turbo it, but now I'm thinking thats too big of a bandwagon, I'm gonna head the N/A route and put some nitrous on too, cost?? I don't care, I have it calculated to approximately 9k, which includes building the engine to handle 150 shot of nawz, crower stage 2 cam, AEM EMS, etc. Only a couple of things I can't find yet, head studs and intake manifold. Eventually someone will come out with one, I have no time frame to complete this, if it's not done by the time the engine reaches 100k (70k left to go) I'll basically stop where I am and call it complete.

internals on a D arent that cheap...they may, in fact, be more expensive than B series because not as many are made.

Umm... this was taken directly from another site that I will not mention. Cut and paste. Unless z6 forilla has an alter ego named "builthatch", I would get permission from him to use this post.

Those prices are way off.......and werent you talking about getting to 200WHP? So why would you be buying strut bars? Granted a B18 will hit the 200 whp easily, BUT if you were really going for cost and you already HAD a D......you could get 200WHP for 1700 bucks. Simply make a custom turbo kit for 1000$, and Go to Jeff Evans in Easton PA and get a NEPTUNE 200WHP tune on your P28 for 700 bones. Thats much cheaper than a stock B18, and more powerful, BUT thats if youve got the D already. See KAPPA I think that people are more willing to try installing a turbo kit as opposed to doing a complete swap themselves.......So far Ive spent 1300 bucks on my cars performance aspects, and once I have this trans swap done ill be getting that tune. It just sucks for me big time that I have this slushbox...otherwise Id be tuned already. Personally I dont want to jump on the bangwagon, Just MAN UP and build your D.
