Default I WANT V-TEC (insert random pouting here)

I got a 1996 dx coupe and I want to put an EX head on it but here is the deal. I want to know how much it will cost and exactly what it entails [sm=bananallama.gif]

"I spent about $550 total when all was said and done. I paid $200 for the head, and $85 for the ECU. Random stuff kept adding up after that. $550 is comparable to a full Z6 swap, but remember this included a new timing belt, head gasket, etc."

This is a highlight from FinalImpact's DIY on the Mini-Me... in the DIY section of this forum.

If you shop around you could probably get that number down to $400 or so.

Seriously, that write up is pretty comprehensive. Read that first and then get back if you have any questions about any of it.

If you have you-pull-it junk yards around you might do it in $200

I found a guy who wants 300 for a SOHC VTEC head, I told him he was crazy. He has a lot of parts laying around where as he works on hondas for a hobby. 300 just seem too high. So I need to take a trip to pick-a-part and see what I can find.

$300 for the head? You ought to be able to find a whole Y8 swap for that. Local market price for a Z6 is ~ $150
