Default 2004 Civic EX Rear Drum Brake Conversion

I see a number of posts related to changing the rear drums of older civics to disks. Any pointers on converting this car? Valve changes, parking brake difficulty, car models to pull the entire assembly from?

I ask because the brake feel on the car is simply aweful. I fully flushed (and bled) the brake system last week, but the braking is still vague and takes about half the pedal travel to do any useful stopping.

I'm changing out the front pads to Hawk HPS and rotors to ATE slotted (I considered the cryo rotors, but without any reviews I'll let someone else try them first ) from tirerack, but if I can improve things a bit more by putting disks on the back I would feel better about the cars ability to stop.

I'm looking more for an Integra swap type thing, not a big/disk brake conversion kit costing 000's, though it would be interesting either way to hear people's experiences with the kits for this model car.

go back and keep bleeding your brakes

ive changed and bled them and it takes a good amount of good bleeding.

i mean, i doubt you need rear disk and slotted rotors and all that...i dont think you need to stop THAT fast.

totally agree. My brakes work fine and i'm still running stock so you should be fine without having to go through the whole rear conversion.
