I'm thing of getting a 95 civic hatch or a year with that body style but i don't know if i should go with auto or stick. i want a stick for the performance but don't want to have to deal with it when i don't want to. i was looking in to it and i heard about putting a transmission from like a rxs so it well be triptonic would this be a good fix?

You cannot mate a K series transmission to a D series motor.
IMO, look for a 92-95 EX/SI Civic. The D16z6 motor it comes with is desirable for power and most commonly upgraded, so parts would be easy and cheap to find.
Also, the automatic transmissions are known to be a "slushbox" and cannot handle additional power where as the OEM manual transmission can handle 400whp easily, as long as you have a good enough clutch. At that point, the motoir sleeves would be the weak point of the vehicle, not the transmission.
I would definitely suggest going with a 5 speed.
