Default CX brake issues

Hey all,
First time forumer and Honda owner--- question
about brakes...
Gotta '93 CX 117k 5sp.A street legal go-cart
pretty much.Yesterday came to a stoplight and the
pedal went all the way to the floor. Pumped once and
it they worked fine (left a lot more space for the
drivers in front of me)Checked the brake fluid level
- it is full. checked pads and shoes - more than half
gone ( will change anyway later this week) . Any
ideas what would cause instant loss - then
recovery?

Could be bad seals in the master cylinder which would cause you to loose pedal pressure but not fluid.
