What is the engine code for a 1995 Civic DX, my engine block says its a 1.5, but my engine head says its 16 valve. Is there anyway I can actually find out what engine I have by checking it. My brother has a 1992 civic dx, and he says my engine is very much faster than his. can someone let me know.

Okay forget that I got it. Okay my engine is a d15b7, what I wanna know is can I take the cylinder head from a d16z6 and put on the my d15b7. If not can I put the cylinder head from a d15z1. I got another question too, if the horsepower for my non vtec engine is 102, and the z1's horsepower is 92 hp, wouldn't that slow down my car??? Also what makes a vtec a VTEC???

I have a 1993 civic si 2dr coupe..my engine is 1.6 sohc vtec...I have not seen any of these exact engines in other hondas of
the same type and year....has somone done a swap...maybe...I did not see this in your list either??:eek:

1996 civic ex, should have a d16y8.....im not sure about the vti, because i have never heard of it, if its usdm, it should have a d16, but if its cdm i dont know.

the list a little bit incorrect all the vtec engines are d class engine. for example the 95 civic coupe has 1.6 vtec sohc the actual displacement is 1.59. the b class engine have same displacement just doesn't have the capability to install supercharger only able to install turbos and become na cars without any cam, valve, and time table modifications. the vtec have the capablilities of all three.

that doesn't make ANY sense.

B and D both come in VTEC and non-VTEC versions. You can put a turbo or supercharger on either one.

k im new but i saw all of the stuff for the engines. What would possibly be ther best one for a 1989 civic base hatch. i dont reallt have a price range.. just want one that would fit and be the best cuz ill have someone put it in..

i hav a 1988 civic hatchback and the enigne number is d15b 1058463 does thats mean its a d15b1 if so that doesnt make sence cus its got 16 valves not 8, and its also dual carbed not injected cud someone held me out here plz

Anything is possible to swap, just some are easier to do than others. B series are generally considered the easiest to swap (that still give some type of recognizable gain) for your chassis
