Ford Escort ZX2 Sport has a 140HP 2.2 DOHC engine it. That would beat most stock non-si Civics on the road, if it makes it across the finish line.

i would say its up to the driver. most people that race on the streets arent very good at it. if they were good at racing, they would keep it on the track.

the only Escort worth a **** is a Cosworth, end of story...

My budy has one of those stupid zx2's and I lit him up with my single slammer barely modded.

Well there are two zx2s: One,like my girlfriends has a SOHC 2.2 and puts out like 108hp, and the other has the DOHC 2.2 putting out 140, The DOHC model will give just about any lightly modded non-si civic a run for his money. Not to mention the things are made of plastic so they couldn't weight that much.

My friend has the DOHC and I can keep up nose-to-nose on straights and run away in turns. That was before the intake and header too.

It's not all about HP either... a lot of things come into play... weight, like you said before (i'm betting my civic is lighter though,) gear ratios, manual vs. auto, etc.
