the fill plug is a pain to get to. its a 17mm bolt on the passenger side, right above the driveline.

and the honda manual transmission fluid is "best" but they make it sound more important so that they make more money.

Woohhoo changed mine today and found some metal shavings (ouch!) anyone know of a good rebuild kit thats not quite expensive?

some metal shavings are "normal" in a manual tranny. as long as its not excessive. and dont bother rebuilding ti, just get another one off of Ebay.

Actually, I would say don't even try reubuilding it at all. For the amount of work it takes and the number of chances you have to screw things up (especially if you haven't done it a few times before), you'd be better off getting a low-mileage used one from Japan. Less than $200, usually.

yea i would definatly go with getting a different one before rebuilding....i know at the junk yards in my area...for a tranny with a 30 day warrenty its 98 bucks...without the warrenty...64
