I believe they actually make both a fuel additive and a direct injector cleaner, so if it's your only option, throw a can of the additive in. It still works pretty damn good.

Somebody should do a DIY on how to use seafoam to clean your injectors. My car could really use it because it only gets about 18-20mpg (yes, thats on my civic)

Speaking of cleaning injectors, one of the best ways is to actually take one out, and wipe all the carbon off of it. Then put some injector cleaner in the gas tank.

I guess I should bust out that injector cleaner thats bee lying around the garage. Since I bought my car 6 months ago, my MPG has gone down prolly 10 miles, 25 city miles on average. Not enough for a high school kid.

After reading this thread, I ran out and got some. I have been having NASTY rough idle problems and stalling 1 out 20 times accelerating from a stop. Mos of the time the car would wait to stall when I have to make a turn with a ton of cars coming at me going 45+ .

Anyway, I dumped it in on a 1/8 tank, filld up and withing 5 minutes my rough idle was almost gone! It even made the cars smoother.

Went and got some, sucked half the can out with the vac line and poured the other half in the gas tank. LOTS AND LOTS OF SMOKE!!! Car runs smoother and idles at less RPM's. After i put it in and let it sit for five minutes I started it up and there was smoke everywhere. So after about 10 minutes of letting it idle I took it for a drive down the road. It looked like one of those stunt planes that leaves the exhaust trail, people were looking at me like WTF! Seems to be some pretty good and effective stuff!
