That's right boys and girls, after a meeting with the mortgage company later today, I will (pretty much) officially be a home owner. We found a place we really like, put in a somewhat lowball bid, and they accepted it. 10grand less than what they were asking, plus they're paying the closing costs, buying us a new hot water heater, and a few other goodies. The house is a 4 bedroom, 2 full bath, 1 stall garage, 1400+sq ft with full finished basement and an assload of storage space. The basement is P.I.M.P. They left a beautiful 8 foot pool table, and built into a brick wall, is a charcoal grille with a hood, IN THE BASEMENT!! How sweet is that? Anyway.. The place was built in the '50's, and has been owned by the same couple since 1969. I went through the place with the inspector the other day and it's still in immaculate condition. Some cosmetic things here and there and we're golden.
Here are some pics of a few of the key features..
Good sized living room (18x13), soon to be filled with a sweet lazyboy, sectional couch with recliners on the ends, and a nice entertainment set-up (havent decided exactly what I'm doing with that yet)

Big ol' Kitchen. Doesn't look like much from this angle, but I'm standing in a 13'x11' foot area which is also technically part of the kitchen. Ignore the green and horrible cabinets, that'll all be different within a couple months.

The Basement, future living room type area in the left corner, pool table will stay where it is.

Heres the brick wall/counter/grille combo that is just slick as all hell... The picture you see to the left, is actuall a cut-out in that wall, which will be turned into a wet bar within a couple months. Theres a huge sink inside the room opposite the picture, the fridge and what not will also go into that room.
And last but not least....I HAVE A GARAGE!!!! One stall for now, until the ground thaws, at which point I'm looking to add on a second stall.

This is going to look SOOO much different after I get done with it...
That's it for now, I will keep this thread updated as the house mods come into play.
