Default Engine Removal without trany?

94 LX with D15B7 - Is it possible to remove the engine without the transmission? I am in the middle of rebuilding the head and have the head, intake, and exhaust off the engine. The alternator and compressor can be quicklty removed...

Can you remove just the engine at this point, or should I go all the way and remove both? The oil seal is leaking some and I would like to fix it.
Thanks

Very possible, and not particularly difficult.

manny or auto? it would be a real pain in the a&& to get the engine to slide onto the shaft of the tranny.

Yeah, it's easier with an auto, but still very doable with a manual. Hell, we even got my brother's engine out pulling it out the top.

Not really. You just hang it in there on a hoist, then tilt it down on the tranny side and eyeball it. It usually goes on without much of a fuss.
