Default short throw shifter? why so cheap?

hey everyone just lookin at some short throw shifters online and theres some from APC for only 2.95 with 13 shipping now thats pretty cheap heres a link to ebay

APC
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33736

APC made out of T6-6061 Billet Aluminum. APC says Reduce the Shift Throw 45-50%

B&M
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33736

now the B&M one is like 40 some plus shipping
question: is someone paying for the name or what. they look the same to me. B&M made of CNC machined, billet alloy steel as they say also B&M says reduces your shift by over 2 in.

so whats the difference?
opinions, comments, criticism

old saying :you get what you pay for

Ive heard countless stories about people breaking cheap short throw shifters, never heard negatives about B&M. They are not cheaper because they are aluminum (aluminum is more expensive than steel), they are less expensive because of lower quality control and weaker design. My advice would certainly to be go buy the B&M, and not ever buy anythin from APC.

Hell no. Even though I have an APC strut bar. Hey c'mon it was only $30 and I was in desperate need of doing something to my car...
