holy hell thats a great shine. tho when reading the testimonials, it seemed like most of those ppl had to put a couple coats of a couple different products on just to get that shine....to much work for my liken. it also seems like all of those cars are new or have a new paint job so it'll prolly work better for them. me on the other hand, i need something that will revive my 10 year old daily driven paint, RoyalBlue does the trick with that:D seems like that stuff would be great for show cars

I could take a 5 dollar bottle of turtle wax to paint like that and it would give the same results for a photo....The paint on those cars has zero orange peel. I own Zaino and while I was very please with the final results it was in now way worth the time in money it took to apply. That being said there are a number of waxes out there that work very well but if you paint sucks it's only guna do so much. I'm actually thinking of wet-sanding my new '06 because it has so much orange peel from the factory.

I've read A LOT of reviews and side by side comparissions online after seeing that site, including one on an NSX forum that was blindly judged by about 50 people and Zaino won hands down in every review. 87% of people that blindly judged Zaino vs. 4 other kinds of wax chose the Zaino section.
They then let it the body panel sit outside and washed it regularly and sprayed water on it and then retested everything after 6 months and the Zaino surface was just as good as the day they put it on and none of the other ones were any better than the unwaxed surface.
I agree that those cars all look that good because they have good paint jobs but from what I gather Zaino is the sh1t. I mean, if people are buying it for $120 a package it has to be working.

Yeah, I sure did. I'm so good at photoshop I even did this little number:
Yeah the stuff is awesome but it took a lot longer to dry and the added cost was not worth the result for my personal taste....I wax my car way to often and don't really care how long it lasts....one thing I really did like about it was that it really seamed to bring out the color in my paint (pearl). I'm currently using P21S and it looks good....not as good as Zaino, but I cax wax my car in 15 minutes with the P21S.
I was in no way knocking Zaino...I just said in a photo it won't matter what wax you have they will all produce a refection like that with paint that is smooth as glass. [sm=Flahssssss.gif]

Looks like we need to have "SHINE COMPETITION" between Zaino and whatever Forty uses...

HAHAHA...Yeah, but lets hold it in MN so I can see it.
I honestly think wax works differently on every car...especially when the car has been repainted because all paints are different. I've tried tons of waxes and I suggest others do the same and use what works best for you. ;)

I plan on washing my car inside and out very very well sometime end of this week since its gena be in the 70s:D. When im done ill take one of those reflection shots and u can compare. Ill be using RoyalBlue. Also note that its 10 year old, daily driven paint thats never been touched up, i figure thats a pretty good way to show how good RoyalBlue is for the price and ease of use.

I've read a lot about Zaino on Autopia.com. From what I read, Zaino produces a very slick surface, resists dust, and rain very well. But from hearing many experiences, the best results depend greatly on the preparation of the paint. Your average car owner waxes over grime, contaminants, dust etc. Wax will not adhere well to a dirty surface. Brushes at the car wash swirl paint where the best results are far from being accomplished with even the best of waxes. Claying, polishing, compounding, and in some cases wet-sanding may be necessary. I want to try some Zaino though and some Natty's Blue paste wax. Been hearing lots about them both lately. Have to try some of 40s Royal Blue while I'm at it...:D Yeah, I'm a detail freak. :)

a friend of mine that has a prelude uses zaino...i really cant tell the difference between that and some meguires stuff that u can buy at any auto store or walmart or w/e....to me it just isnt worth alllll that money and spending allllll that time for pretty much the same exact shine. unless maybe ur going to shows or somethin like that...

thats true too....a good shine is what you want and im betting you could barely tell the diff if you spent the extra 2 hrs using the zaino, but hey alot of people are neat freaks like that so whatever...anyways the last time i waxed my car was about ummmm almost a year ago and that was just wax not any prep or glaze or anything like that so im pretty sure my black isnt AS BLACK as it could be.....

Zaino is good stuff - but remember, 95% of how good paint looks is the prep. Zaino, Souveran, Poorboys, Menzerna, Clearkote - any of it on bad paint is going to look bad. Zaino is a good system because it comes with detailed instructions and kind of urges you to follow their guidlines through the entire process. If you do the same thing with other products odds are your results will be similar, and at that point it comes down to personal preference.
Here are some pics with a regular old spray on wax. :)

3M makes a good swirl mark remover...it's widely used in body shops after wet sanding and compounding. It's applied with a high speed buffer and a foam pad. I use it when I have a show car or a dark colored customer car come in...To expensive to use on dealer cars. ;)

Yeah, that stuff sure does work. My dad and I looked at their website after seeing this post, and we bought two bottles. I tried some on my civic, and man, it shines it up. It looks great, \but a few days after I put it on, it rained, which made me very angry, but when I got out of school, I found there were no waterspots whatsoever, so it has to make water bead very well. I'm glad I bought it, and will continue to buy more in the future.

Swirls can be caused by abrasive polishes but are mostly caused by choice of towel and method of washing/drying. If you want to rid yourself of swirls invest in good microfiber towels and do not press hard with any towel for that matter. Wal mart makes ok microfibers but Pak shak makes excellent ones as well as Waffle weave drying towels. There are lots of good towel makers, just takes some reading to figure who you want to choose.
A lot of manufacturers make good swirl removal products. I use Meguiars DACP and 3M Perfect it II. You can use use these by hand or machine. Swirls are light scratches, so to remove swirls you must take take the surrounding surface of paint down to the level of the swirl/scratch. Zaino and other waxes will not accomplish this, they simply hide swirls. For removal, you must use an abrasive polish. If they are very light I wouldn't worry about it, because it is a never ending battle, especially on black. You will eventually produce some light swirling sooner or later. For more info on swirl removal check this link...Swirl Removal (http://www.guidetodetailing.com/articles.php?articleId=15) ;)
