y8 or z6 head

I want to do a mini me on my d15b7 but witch head should i use to do it i looked at the info on the z6 head. Is it the same swap for the y8? Same belts etc? with witch one will i obtaine optimal preformance?

It depends. If you plan on going turbo later then the z6 would be a better choice, but for now and N/A the y8 is better. The y8's combustion chamber is smaller and the result is about a half a point of compression and that half of a point will give you a little more performance right now. Also, the ports are a little different. The z6's are what's called "tumble" ports and give a little better top end. The y8 ports are "swirl" ports and are better down low; but that's getting picky.

Basically, go with what's easier or cheaper.

Is the p28 ecu work for both.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the p28 will work for both, and you will need the y8 cam gear for either, and either timing belt will work as the y8 and the z6 timing belts have the same # of teeth.
