i found a used dc sports header that says it will fit 88-00 civics, is it possible to have it fit my 2002 civic ex?

no, it wouldnt work well at all. the exhaust port design is way different between the years, and i believe the lower part of the header is way different too, though you may be able to get the older style header-back exhaust to work somehow, theres still the issue of the top flange fitting.
