Those would be my two first tries (besides eBay). absoulute 03-26-2006, 11:02 PM hmotorsonline thats where i got mine very happy with it mentaldis0rder 03-27-2006, 07:59 AM http://www.maddog-transmissions.com/new_index.htm http://www.gearspeedinc.com/ Heres 2.. the one i seen has spoon and mugen tranny.. not sure if they have for all makes/models.. Kedawei 03-27-2006, 12:34 PM Gear speed no longer sells trannys, they just do rebuilds. importcivicus 03-27-2006, 10:22 PM or will the stock tranny in the 99 civic ex able to place a lsd in it. Oh, I was under the impression you were looking for a b series trans, since they're generally the only trans that come with LSD. You could try to land a JDM D15 LSD tranny, though I don't know if it will mount up to a D16Y8. Your only other two choices that I know of would be OBX and Quaife LSDs. (I don't consider Phantom Grip a choice.) http://www.srr.com.tw/english/e_transmission.asp These guys make a sweet final drive too. Berzerker 03-28-2006, 12:07 AM Just go with a OBX. They are pretty good for the money I have heard no complaints from a couple friends that have it... I got a Quaife in my car and its doing the trick nicely but its a lil more pricey. Berz out. importcivicus 03-28-2006, 12:20 AM i dont mind pricey i want to be able burn both tires then have a good time at the track and a better dyno also. Berzerker 03-28-2006, 12:22 AM to be totally honest... lsd wont help that much at the track unless your putting down mad power. I have a friend who ran 11.84 with a open diff. LSD is better for around the town driving but not that benificial for the track. Your money would be better spent elsewhere IMO. Berz out. Pete 03-28-2006, 12:23 AM Its not about burning both tires.....its about getting power to the ground and getting rid of wheel hop. I cant wait till I get my JDM D15 trans.......LSD and 225 whp tune will be nice. Marty 03-28-2006, 01:38 AM Have you ordered it yet Pete? boosted_honda 04-03-2006, 02:14 AM will that jdm d15 tranny fit my jdm d16A motor? i have been saving for a lsd for a while. i dont want to buy the obx one cause there is no way it is good if all the others like quaife and kaaz are in the $800 to $1000. so i have been saving but if the d15 tranny fits then what the hell i might as well just go with that. i just need my car to stop pulling to the right. Marty 04-03-2006, 02:38 AM yes it will fit boosted_honda 04-03-2006, 02:46 AM cool do u know where i can get one. ive been looking but i cant find them by themselves. i have to buy the whole motor. and would this be a better option than to just go out and buy a obx unit? meaning is the d15 tranny strong. also i think my motor came out of a 92-95 civic in japan so i will have to order the one for that year even though my body style is a 96. thanks and i will keep looking but if u can put up a link that would be cool. Marty 04-03-2006, 02:58 AM As far as buying one by itself good luck, I'd have one if I could find it. Yes it would be better than the OBX, hell getting in there and super glueing your spider gears together would be better than the obx IMO. Do not cheap out on this, it is a very important part if you decide to include it meaning a cheap crappy one like a obx will turn your car to complete **** while a good one like a quaife /kaaz will make you wonder how you lived so long w/o one. boosted_honda 04-03-2006, 03:05 AM im starting to find that out. these things are rare huh? i cant find one at all. i know i should not buy the obx and i should sping for the pricey ones but, damn $1000 buck and then u have to pay to get it put in cause i don't know crap about trannys. this sux. thanks for all the help though. Marty 04-03-2006, 03:17 AM No problem I would run a stock non LSD transmission before I'd run OBX though......sorry boosted_honda 04-03-2006, 01:14 PM thats cool i just hear alot of spotty things about the obx unit. it makes sense that it is no good cause it cost about a 1/4 of a quaife or kaaz. it cant be as good. I just hate waiting for something and i am always looking to save some money. wish i could just find a d15 one but even if i did i don't know what im looking for so i guess i will just have to keep saving for my quaife. thanks for the advice. boosted_honda 04-03-2006, 01:18 PM well thanks and i guess i will just keep saving for my quaife. thanks for the advice. Street Sniper 04-03-2006, 01:26 PM LSD is better for around the town driving but not that benificial for the track. Umm, what?? Marty, kazz makes a LSD for d series transmissions? boosted_honda 04-04-2006, 12:37 AM I know quaife comes with a lifetime garuntee but where can i buy one that has the life time garuntee. i don't know the main site that sell the quaife. if anyone know could they tell me so i can see how much im looking at to get one. thanks. Kedawei 04-04-2006, 01:29 AM I've seen them on a few sites. They were all about $1000. See if Quaife's site links you to any dealers. If not, google it. I think I googled it. 99civic_boosted 04-04-2006, 02:15 AM Best price I could find. http://www.modacar.com/products/Honda/Civic/MODALSD/ Kedawei 04-04-2006, 12:21 PM So kazz does make one, aight. |
