yea everyhitng is connected ..as far as the splice, i used crimp caps..still does not work

anyone know which character in a vin number tells you if your car is equipped with a vtec engine? i have a 98 honda civic ex, but not sure if its vtec or not. there is no vtec word on the valve cover.

i have already tried putting the washer. but when i put it, the plug it wont tighten all the way . i have tried putting a thin plastic washer and the regular washer and it still does the same thing....
