Default what'll it run??

i've never took my car to the track. i've raced buddys who have and the fastest car i've beat is a srt-4 with the stage 2 kit. His best time was a 13.9. I cant get tracktion but all i have is stock gsr tranny and 18's with 215 35 rubber. if i buy track/street rubber what size and tire do you guys think??? What would be a good goal time with what i already have ???

Probably pretty close to what I run.. street tires limit you greatly. If you gonna run streets go witha 15"rim with a R compound Tire. If you can get traction 13.9 on streets should be your goal for a first time out and then go from there fine tuning your launch. Im still trying to learn mine but I am shaving time off each time I go out. Practice makes perfect. You cant take any kind of street launch to the track cuz its totally differnt too so the only way to get better is to actually get some runs under your belt. Have fun and lemme know how you do.

Just for comparison my time is in my sig.

Berz out.

low 14s...maybe high 13s. im not quite sure what size tires sacs has...but he runs low-mid 14s in his gsr swapped eg. i bet your wheels are bigger so that would make you a little faster...so im going to say 14.1-14.2ish.

bigger wheels make you slower in the quarter mile.

technically, they make you faster, but with a lower ET...bigger tires=more top end...smaller tires= lower gears and better ETs.

it makes you faster because you get more distance from one rotation. but you're right it makes you slower in ETs.

youre 285 whp? you should be able to get deep 13s if you can get traction. I was high 14s on 157whp, with a little traction issue, and a soft launch. I havent run it since the bolt-ons, but I figure mid 14s on street tires, and maybe low 14s on my 555Rs.
