Default 2001 civic EX auto tranny question

Hello, brand new to the board here as I am still researching which honda I wish to buy. I found a good deal today on a 2001 Civic EX Sedan which has the automatic transmission. The car has 125k miles, but the exterior and interior are mint from what all I have inspected so far. I have done a little research on the net looking for various recalls and such, and I came across a complaint about the automatic transmissions slipping out of gear. My question to you gear heads is how common are the auto transmission problems on these cars and do you think 125k is a gamble with the auto tranny in general? Thanks in advance for any advice you may offer. One last thing.. I test drive the car tomorrow so if anybody can give me some honda quirks to look for while on the test drive I would greatly appreciate it.
