polishing to much?

will polishing ur car maybe every 1-2 months hurt the paint at all? i usually wash/wax my car once a month but polish it maybe 2 times a year and was wondering if i could polish it more often or would it hurt the paint?

What kind of polishing are you talking? By hand, PC, rotary? Which polishes? If you're polishing by hand or PC and using something nice and light like Megs 80 or SSR1 or something you could probably polish once a month and be fine for 20 years. If you're using Menzerna PG on a rotary...well, let's hope you're not. :)

They say once a year because they're saying it'll remove your scratches for a year. That polish is relatively mild and by hand you could probably polish every week for years without an issue. So if you need to polish every 3 or 4 months don't sweat it.

I knew a security guard that waxed his car every night......It was a 78 buick...well in 1998 he was finally rubbing through the color coat and into the primer. 20 years to cut the paint...LOL
