I've found lots of useful info here at HCF. But not all info is easy to find. While the info is in here somewhere, it's very difficult to find any given set of instructions complete with parts lists and suggestions for a specific project.

I suggest having a section with strictly parts lists and How-To's all together...as opposed to scattered throughout the forums.

Just off the top of my head, here are some examples of things I've looked for but either didn't find or couldn't find enough info on:

-Engine swap tutorial (minime included)
-parts needed
-parts cost
-average labor cost

-Power steering install/removal
-parts needed
-parts cost
-average labor cost

-Turbo
-how to part together a turbo
-optional parts
-recommended kits
-what are the drawbacks of buying a cheap Ebay kit?

Note: Those are just examples to give you all an idea how the section might be organized. I think it would make browsing through the forum much easier and I'm sure we would use search alot less.

no need to yell!

Have you seen the DIY section? (Do It Yourself)
http://www.hondacivicforum.com/forumid_222/tt.htm

if you come across another thread somewhere and you think it would make a good DIY, PM it to one of the admins and we can post it there.

lol... I wasn't yelling. I just enlarged that part in case the reader was thinking "what's your point?".

And yeah... I've been to the DIY section. That's kinda what gave me the idea. What I was thinking of is having something like DIY ...except categorized by 'type of car', then 'type of work'...and also following a specific format that makes it easy to skim through once you've seen it a few times.

Eh...it's late. I might just be talking out my ....

well I don't think we need a new section, because the section is already there. It DOES need new content though, so if you have some specific info in mind (that is already written up) tell me and I can move it there

^ yea, thats the only problem. We depend on members only to submit diys. we dont want to be the ones digging them off of other forums ofr them. However, a couple are from other sources but have given express permission to use.

yeah, when I said "specific info that is already written up" I meant here, in existing threads on this forum. Not stealing things from other sites.

94dx,
Here's a Honda tuning article on removing your power steering. I found it today and thought it was pretty cool. It's done on a 6th gen Civic.

Thanks for the info. Shortly after this thread was posted, I managed to part together a power steering kit and had it installed. All is good!
