Default ebay short shifters

There are a lot of short shifters on ebay for $8-$10... no offense to our sponsors but there short shifters are out of my price range.

Are those cheapo short shifters ok? I did a search and about half the people liked them, and the other half didn't... but I don't jam my shifter around so I bet I'd be ok.

Upon further reading, it lists that it's an aluminum alloy in one part, and steel in another? Should I beware of aluminum?

i bought a cheapo one from pep boys, its aluminum. have had it for over a year and no problems. ppl say they can break but i think to do that u have to be doing some hardcore powershifting. if this is ur dailydriver and prolly will only race a couple times a month or w/e, then u should be alright with a cheapo one.

I would try and avoid the aluminum ones all together. I've not heard good things about them.

Listen to sbowers. B&M is one of the best companies that deal with transmissions components and parts in the US, I already plan on getting a short shifter through them in the future.
