Default word of advice

Hey guys...just thought id share my experience, because i think it might be common, and the real serious/advanced guys on this forum have probably forgotten what it was like this far back when they just started.

About 3 months ago i started making enough money to start throwing stuff on my car...so i bought a AEM CAI and apexi ws2 catback. I dont know why i didnt get a header, after all the first 3 mods that are preached are I/H/E. Well the ws2 isnt here yet (backorder) and the cai is nice, but once you get the taste of aftermarket parts in your mouth, you want more power, lots more. And so im glad i didnt get the header because now im starting to peice together parts to boost my car (thanks to petes turbo grocery list) and a regular exhaust manifold is useless.

What im basically trying to say is...if you are serious about your car and starting up in this hobby, think seriously about going turbo. All the "vets" on this site give the same advice, but (at least in my experience) i was skeptical because it is intimidating to boost, and it sounds scary and way too much at first and mostly expensive. But the truth is, for our cars at least, its the only real source of big power. So if ur serious, skip the header, forget the high performance spark plugs for now, and all the little unfelt upgrades and save up yo scrilla and start researching turbos.

This is a very good post to tell the truth. I know it sounds repetative when we all say boost this and boost that but the hard reality is that most people are not gonna take the time and show enough intrest in their car or modding to go all out all motor for the love of doing it not in the name of power. Boost be it from a supercharger or a turbo are the only ways to affectively add tq to your car and that is what makes them feel stronger and pull through the rpms better.

word...im content with my i/h/e setup tho. i dont need boost for autox and rather not have it honestly cuz then ill run in more competitive class. plus boost in autox is only as good as the driver...

^ What he said. The only reason I won't be boosting is for ease in autox, at least for now. For drag racing tho, no question. Turbo is the only route I'd go.
