just did my 1st couple of passes down the track and found out how much of a turd my 93 EX 2dr coupe automatic is. My best time was 17.74. Why is it so slow?!!?!?!?!?? I shallow stage as much as possible so u know it is the best time out of the car. Can some one tell me y it is so slow and what can I do to improve at least to run 16 flat. without turbo!!! I have a head out of a 98 EX. I know it will increase my compression but how much faster will it be? anybody?

hehe not really even the crappiest cars can be made to run 16s just do some research and you will find all the information you need. But yeah dont expect too much from a four cylinder car, they are fast but need aftermarket parts to make them faster.
SO TRUE, but you must give them respect for putting so many mods onto so little car and making so big numbers. I was just wandering whats so cool about a fart pipe and a pvc pipe turbo?

Yeah these little kids watch a movie and think everything is real. We make fun of those ricers also. But in this forum we all do our research and buy stuff to make our cars faster (every little bit helps).
Here it is, a v8 will always have more potiental than a 4 cyl., but it takes more work and knowledge to make a 4 cyl. fast. A mustang is made to go fast from the factory, a civic is made for economy. The fact that i can make my civic put down 300whp and run low thirteen's on street tires,(spinning all the way thru third) is comendable. Anybody can make a mustang run in the 11-12 sec range. Just go to the track and you'll see 50 a weekend, but how many 4 cyl. do you see in that area. Not many. With slicks and a lsd tranny i think i could be deep in the 12's with a car that still gets 21mpg in town and only costs me 30 a month to insure.

That is true of course we all know 8 cylinder engines will go fast, but whenever you see a 4 cylinder car going that fast you just have to admire all the hard work and knowledge that went into that car to get it to where it is.
I had a camaro before and sure it was fast, but i sold it because i wanted a challenge so i got a civic.
