So I love detailing my car. I have used countless waxes and polishes and have a pretty good system for polishing and cleaning, but now I need to figure out how to keep wax from getting on the trim pieces, I have been contemplating this for a while and all I can figure out is masking tape, but that seems like a lot of time and quite a pain, does anyone have a cure to get rid of white residue on the trim around windows and stuff?

Will it actually REMOVE the white residue or just mask it for a while? I've used a couple of different shine em up stuffs but the white discoloration comes back after a week or so. I've tried scrubbing with a nylon brush, I've tried windex and a couple other cleaning products but the freking white streaks from the wax always comes back.

I use 'back to black' and it REMOVES the white crap. I have not had it come back at all.(other than when I get a little crazy with the buffer). No joke that stuff is great. I use it on all three of my cars and the only thing it wont do is the little strips of black the are on either side of the roof. For some reason I cannot get them to shine like the rest of the trim.

I use Armor-All wipes, and I do it BEFORE I wax. it seems to work
