So im working on my car last weekend (see 6th gen review section) and needed to go get more oil. I take my mothers '02 Honda Odyssey over to the store. This kid pulles up at a red light and could not have been more than 17. He starts looking over and reving his little riced out civic with fart can and graphics, HUGE wing on the back and an unpainted bodykit that looked like a snowplow. I just laughed at how stupid he was being reving at a minivan. Then when the light turned he gave me the finger. Needless to say this did not go over well with me. I dont ever really race, but I FLOORED it. He was giving it everything he had and my moms minivan blew him away. At the next light he was punching the steering wheel and I could not stop laughing. I almost wanted to paint a little car silhouette on the van (like the pilots used to do in WWII). It was one of those great moments that make you laugh until you almost pee your pants.

Thats the way to do it, man. You should have flipped him off before the next light changed

I think me laughing and rocking back and forth in my seat did the trick. If they would ever learn to make the car perform then look good. God I will never forget him cussing and hitting the steering wheel. It was a little slice of heaven.

I had been thinking about that since the day I drove it off the lot and home for her. I smoked the tires in front of the dealership and the salesman almost had a heartattack. People an say what they want about minivans, but honda mini vans have it where it counts.

I am going to be on the look out for him when I am out in my Ranger 2wd (slow as x-mas). If I find him again, im smoking him again. I will try to snap a picture of him next time i see him. I'll post it if i get a good one.

that is great, but odessys are fast, i had my parents one up to 120 mph on a nice deserted straight road.

yaa those odysseys are schweeeet. my friends parents have one, we went snowboarding and my friend was driving, we were on the highway and i was in the passenger seat talkin to my friend behind me, i look over at the speedo and were goin 100mph hahah. but i didnt even realize it till i looked at the speedo, almost no outside noise/wind noise lol.

I think I am going to name the minivan "Ricer Killer". I told my mother what I happened with the kid, and when I got the part where he gave emthe finger. She said "I hope you dusted his little butt." I love my mother. Its nice when a parent support their child in street racing. LOL.

Haha, nice kill. I remember I was in a hurry to get to school one day, so I shifted 1st and 2nd at 6k, starting from a stop, and this oddesey started pretty damn fast as well..actually faster than me,some soccer mom driving

Haha, nice. That's funny. Honda's bigger cars have some power to them. My parents have a 2006 Pilot. The thing pulls pretty hard, 15 second car stock I belive.

v6 3.0 vtec is all i know... dont really know i just had a glimpse of my friends odessyi might be wrong tho

Actually it is a 3.5 sohc vtec and makes like 240hp and 240tq. I'd say it is a the same J35A3 used in the older Acura MDX's

that generation odyssey is the same as an accord, so all of the accord suspension and engine parts will swap over no problem. and an h22 swap is as easy as routing the shift cables and custom mounting the shifter. and adding vtec of course.

vans are v6s and v8s.

civics are 4s.

yeah oddessy's are pretty fun vans, we have an older one, 95 i think and it only has the f22b6 in it, but still that thing can run....

I learneed a long time ago about the power of the van, my friends mom had a dodge caravan sport, we used to take that on all of our trips that were more than a couple hours long, We raced that thing so many times against so many people that I will never sleep on a mini-van again!! They have to have power from the factory for hauling kids and crap around!!! I would have paid to see the kid beating on his steering wheel though!!!!! Please take a picture next time!!!!

i was reading car&driver, motor trend......one of those car magazines a month or so ago and they dodge caravan is actually one of the most expensive, worst rated mini-vans on the market............in their review anyway. but i know somone with a new caravan and they love it. i'll never own a minivan, i wont let my wife own one either. call it too much of an image thing if you want, i'll take my "gas guzzling suv" over one of those

yeah the Odyssey's are fun... definitely have some balls even when loaded up...

the older Hybrid Civics can have some pretty decent get up & go if you floor them... dunno about smoking the tires though

Are there any aftermarket parts that work well on the Odysseys? I had thought about mabey welding up a cat back and using an aftermarket muffler, then mabey a CAI.

Where are you finding a V8 mini van?! A lot of them are 4's actually. And it's about the weight. A new loaded odysey has more weight on the front wheels than most civics have total.

I have a friend that works at Honda America in Alabama where they make the van and the Pilot and a bunch of guys decked out a van to do the gumball in. He said it was pretty sweet, lowered and painted and what-not.

OMG. I was riding with my mother and we pulled up at a red light. A kid in a another civic pulls up. Not riced out or anything. He isn't reving or anything. Then My mother (55 year old EX preschool teacher) starts reving at the kid. He laughs and revs back. THen the light turned green and she took off like rocket. The whole time I am holding on for dear life. She beat him and I am about to piss myself laughing. So that is two down in her van. One I did and the other she did. I am never riding with her again. LOL

yeah my mo did that in her 04 accord coupe...that thing is pretty fast for its weight...

I heard from honda tuning, or some other import mag...that most of the accord parts will switch, and the jdm accord chassis parts are almost always a perfect fit...i forget what years work with what though...but you can do it.

Those Toyota minivans are pretty sweet too, I can't remember what they're called but they are mid-ranged and supercharged. Pretty fast, my friend and his dad bought two of them and sold them even with high miles, they have a wierd cult following. Those things hauled ass.

i would love to see an oddessey turboed, lol apicture hearing the blow off valve from that car lol and seeing other ppls reactions
