Windshield washer=Turbo IC cooler

So I have this list a buddy gave to me of "Tuner Tricks," one that caught my eye was rerouting the little windshield washer nubs into the bumper and having them as a cool down switch when the turbo intercooler is too hot. But I wanted to know (cause I dont have a turbo yet) is there any point to this, does the IC get that hot? And would spraying water on it mess it up at all?

Thanks,

?? Never heard about that, no, water will not mess it up, its a sealed unit (hopefully) It sounds good in theory, but i dont think it would cool it down enough to make difference

They do have water misters out there, but the best way is to have nos or co2. I've seen reports that say with nos you can gain up to 35hp, I would assume the co2 would be the same since it is just as cold.

The only mister's I've seen were on rally cars, which are run hard for extended periods of time.

eh i wouldnt do it.............im sure track officisals would kick you off the track for dropping water on the track. look into water injection if you really want to do the sort......cheaper than the n20 route.

sounds odd because all your doing is spraying water on it. the whole point of the n20 and co2 misters is to cool the actual air going into the ic. i dont think sprayin water on it would really help at all.

well if the intercooler is hotter than your ice water itll help cool it down some. nothing like n2o or so2 but even a few degrees temp drop on an ic will help combat detonation.
