Default EG SI vs. Mustang, Talon, Grand Prix, and Jeep

Just got my first Civic a few weeks ago. It's a '93 SI that I got bone stock from an old lady. All I've done so far is a cai.
I was at a fellow SI owner's house last night shootin' the **** when this guy comes over in his bro's V6 Stang talking about how badass it is. So I say "Let's race" and he laughs at me.
wtf?
So he starts talkin' major **** about the SI's. Anyway, I throw a bill in his face, and told him to show me what's up.
We drove out into the middle of farm town where there's like a 2 mile strip of nothin but flat road and wheat on the sides.
He's still talkin' his Stang up, so we lined up, took off and by the time I hit the top of 2nd gear, I was smokin' him so bad it wasn't even a race. So I just took it a little further and let off and pulled over a little ways up the road to collect my winnings. And the ****er blows by me, and I never saw him again.

So I drive back into town all butt hurt about it, and pulled up next to a guy I've seen around town with a red Talon. I wasn't really even in the mood to race, but before the light was even close to green, this guy had his ride revved up and ready to go. So I smoke this guy all the way up to about 80. Then again. Then I notice this Grand Prix that's been following us and keepin' up. So I got into the other lane, and let him line up with me (he had an auto). Light turns green, and I'm gone. Wasn't even a close race. Then, as I'm just getting back into town, I saw my buddy drivin' down the road in his ~1995 Jeep Cherokee (4.0 litre HO I6 A/T). And we were just messing around. We started from about 15mph, and he stayed RIGHT WITH ME all the way up to 75 or so. Neither of us moved an inch ahead or behind.

How funny is that. Smoke 2 v6 wanna be muscle cars, a Talon, and of all cars, the Jeep keeps right with me.

ok if your saying you "smoked" all those cars and a jeep hung with you i think im going to call bs on this. the stang im not sure a civic those with just cai but correct me if im wrong. what kind of talon was it? surely it was an automatic front wheel drive NA talon because those are pretty quick. the pontiac i dont know anything about. but the jeep one i understand. im not trying to hate or bash on you i just need some more details.

The talon was a stick fwd n/a with a big fatty fart can and I don't know what else.

The [convertible] Stang was an idiot coked out mexican driving (with 2 passengers) and it smelled like it had no oil in it. I'm sure if it was the other way around - me driving the Stang, him driving the Civic, I still would've smoked him. But hey, a kill is a kill.

The Pontiac was an auto, but it was not the first Grand Prix i've taken with my SI. So I wasn't that surprised.
I'm no expert driver, but in the small town I live in, there's probably a total of 5 turbo Honda's (one running 12.8 consistently. I just met this guy earlier tonight - he was cool as ****, and is going to help me do up the rest of my Civic); and 100+ with a "custom" [read: WalMart special] exhaust system and some pos jimmy-rigged intake. It's pretty safe to say I could out-drive 80% of people in my town.

I'm pretty good friends with one of the Grand Prix owners. I think a mid or early 90's. A/t. I'll try to get a vid of it just for you guys. I can launch and get out of there a lot quicker than that big ass car.
He also has an a/t Grand Am (don't ask me why), and I can spank it.

yeah jeeps are pretty quick, they have a lot of torque and low speed grunt, but when you get to higher speeds they lose it all.

my lifted jeep with 33s will hold about 1 car length on my friend in his ram with a 4.7 until about 60 mph

Sorry bro, there is no way ... These guys are right. I've never lost to any stock Civic (Not saying it's not possible, I'm sure there have to be some upper-echelon Civics stock, right?) ... And I've lost to Grand Prix's and my friend has a TT Talon ... No way you could have possibly come near beating a TT Talon, no idea what Talon you ran but they are quick either way
