RE: 8lbs = bigger injectors?
No. The beauty of JR s/c is they are perfectly designed for stock honda engines. They require no major modification. They are a 'set it and forget' application. Bigger injectors would only be needed to run 10psi or more typically.
Next time I do a boost application, it will most likely be a s/c. Reliability, simplicity and no frills (in a bad way) is what makes a s/c great. *For the turbo people, I know about tune this and tune that, but from what i stated above a s/c is superior to a turbo in that manner. No need for arguement, its been discussed millions of times so you all should know where im coming from. |
RE: 8lbs = bigger injectors?
ya thats why i went the s/c route the simplicity and low matenance (sp) lol

RE: 8lbs = bigger injectors?
I looked at the Civic s/c and it looks like you can even run 8psi on a stock d, no?
|
RE: 8lbs = bigger injectors?
Bone stock. Wait... im not sure. out of the box it will do 6psi...which you can run bone stock. You have to get an underdrive pulley to get 2 more pounds out of it but theres something else you need to do for that.... I just cant put my finger on it.

RE: 8lbs = bigger injectors?
you can definately find JRSC kits on ebay much cheaper than list if youre patient. They come and go, but theyre out there. I had a guy offer me a kit with injectors, intake and a fuel pump for 900 bucks.

RE: 8lbs = bigger injectors?
This is simply what I would recommend.
6psi, JR MAP controller, and stock injectors is driveable. Notice I didn't say smooth, it's jumpy and tends to miss a lot, especially at lower RPMs. 8psi really should get a tune. You will make a lot more power, and the car will be a lot more drivable with a good tune. Oh, and I'm running 8psi on a t3t4 57 trim with no issues and a stock block... building an engine for an SC is pretty much just optional. Like everything, it just needs a good tune... Look into getting it intercooled though... |
