Nice. The last time red line owners visited this forum was a bunch of retarded trolls.

ya, most IRL's are putting down between 205 and 220ish fwhp stock. some injectors, pully, intake and a good tune can get us in the 270-280ish to the front wheels range. only a couple out there have gotten into the motor and started making big numbers though, but only in the last 8-9 months have we really started getting some decent after market support though. you havnt seen one in person Forty04 most likly b/c there are only about 6000 of em out there give or take a hundred or so, but the cobalt ss/sc's are the same platform and im sure you have seen those around.

Sure have, mostly in my rear view

That one was more than likely stock, but I gotta say even in stock form they move pretty good.

the ion redlien and the cobalt ss/sc are built on the delta platform that came from the opel astra. The differences between the 2 are that the ss/sc has a little bit better suspension.

If you really want a fast car that is going to run you the same price as the new Si or SS Cobalt just buy a Mazda Speed 3 for about $22,000. It's faster than both in stock form, I think it's a 13.9sec 1/4mi car right off the lot. With a few bolt-ons it would see mid 13's easily, with some tuning it could easily see low 13's.

Telling you right now, SRT-4s are crap.  Yea they are fast stock and with a tune they are pushing 300's easy w/ simple bolt-ons.  My friend had one and took it back to the dealership 3 times then getting the Lemon Law on it.  Neons are crap.  Srt-4s can beat a k20 stock easily, but the fact is the hondas hold up better anyday, power isnt always the winner, it depends whos engine can make it to the finish line first

Obviously most people on this forum would say a Civic is gonna be faster than whatever. Here's my opinion; stock (fastest-slowest)
Mazdaspeed3,SRT-4, Cobalt Supachaged/Redline, Civ Si. Ya sure any car can be faster, you put a g in to a Civic, itll be faster, you put some slicks and a manual boost cont. (like $500 all together) on an SRT-4 it'll be faster, you put a pully on a supercharged car itll be faster. Civics are slow stock, thats just the way it is. I had a 93 d16 coop, now I own a 96 thunderbird w/ a 4.6 modular engine, its faster, period, 280lbs of torq is vry nice. If you want a "fast" car go wit the galant vr4, all you need there is a boost controller and a cone filter (12+ lbs a boost stock) it should beat/keep up with gobalt sc's and beat civics. Civics are no doubt fun cars, but my vote is with the SRT-4, good for smokies, ugly headlights, boost is nice. sorry for the book

all those cars are faster than the civic si..but they are all also forced induction.  charge the si, and i think it would be a different story.
